Henry Trezise

Henry Trezise was born February 2, 1829 in St. Just, Cornwall, England, the son of Henry Trezise and Loveday Pool. He died in April 28, 1920 in Adrain Township, Jackson, Kansas. He is buried in the Adrain Cemetery.
He married Honor Trembath, born August 10, 1824 in St. Just, Cornwall, England and died September 7, 1904. She is buried in Adrain Cemetery in Jackson County, Kansas.
Henry Trezise was a tin miner in England and, in 1855, he brought his mining skills to to Ishpeming, Michigan. His wife, Honor, remained in England with their sons until about 1862. He worked in the copper mines until he moved to Kansas in about 1867. He lived on a quarter section (160 acres) in Jackson County about 13 miles northeast of St. Marys, Kansas. Honor fenced the place with osage orange trees. His house burned and the grasshoppers came, so he and his two oldest sons worked in the gold mines in Colorado.
After his wife, Honor, died, he went back to England. He met Sarah Elizabeth 'Bess' Day Cyres on the ship back to America in 1905. He married her and they lived in Emmett Township in Pottawatomie County, Kansas.
He was very proud of his American citizenship. He was a Republican and never missed an election. Henry and Honor had six children: Henry, James, Honor Jane, William, Selena, and Anna Sophia Trezise.

Henry's great-grandson was born March 23, 1907 in Leavenworth, Kansas. His given name was Preston Francis Trezise. His parent divorced when he was an infant. His mother was remarried to Edd Salathial May. Preston was renamed Preston Salathial May. Preston was my grandfather.
